Message to Indian Community During Curfew in Mauritius

Message to Indian Community
During Curfew in Mauritius

High Commissioner Tanmaya Lal
21 April 2020

Namaskar,

The global fight against Coronavirus continues.

The Curfew here and Lockdown in India are in force for two more weeks at this stage.

And we have to wait for some more time before the travel restrictions can be lifted.

The Government of Mauritius is making remarkable efforts to contain the pandemic.

And the good news is that the situation in Mauritius is stabilizing.

Supermarkets and pharmacies remain open.

We are grateful to all the nurses and doctors, healthcare and other essential services personnel who are working to help all of us.

Friends,

We are proud that last week we were able to deliver some essential medicines from India as requested by our Mauritian friends.

You may have seen the warm messages exchanged between Hon. Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth and Prime Minister Modi on this.

This once again showed our very special and close friendship.

Friends,

I wish to commend all of you for showing resilience and cooperating with the authorities.

I hope you are pursuing some of your hobbies indoors, doing some exercise and Yoga, and do remain positive.

Check out our online classes on music, dance and Yoga by the Indian Culture Centre IGCIC on Facebook.
Friends,

My colleagues and I remain engaged daily in ascertaining the welfare of Indian interns, students, tourists and others.

We are in regular touch with colleges, agents, hotels and companies.

Please follow advisories on our Website, Twitter and Facebook. Our helplines also remain operational.

Please stay indoors, Stay safe.
