The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Dr. Ramesh Chandra Pokhriyal visited Mauritius from February 8 - 10, 2010. He was invited by the Global Organisation of Persons of Indian Origin (GOPIO) International, Mauritus on the occasion of the Maha Shivratree festival celebrations. During the course his visit, he met the President, Sir Anerood Jugnauth and Prime Minister Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam. He also had interactions with other Ministers including the Minister of Education, Culture and Human Resources, Dr. V.K.Bunwaree and the Minister for Public Infrastructure, Land Transport and Shipping, Mr. Anil Bachoo.

Dr. Pokhriyal met local entrepreneurs at a function organised by the Board of Investment (BoI), and invited them to invest in Uttarakhand. Prime Minister Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam launched the French version of Shri. Pokhriyal’s book “Khade Huye Prashna” titled “Esperance et Verite” at a function held in Mahatma Gandhi Institute.
