INS Sarvekshak to carry out hydrographic survey operation in Mauritius

Indian Navy Ship, INS Sarvekshak, is on a month long deployment to Mauritius for undertaking Hydrographic Surveys. The ship arrived in Port Louis today and would be undertaking the survey of Grand Port in Mauritius apart from imparting training to personnel of the Mauritian Coast Guard during its deployment.

2. INS Sarvekshak, a specialised survey ship of the Indian Navy, based at Kochi, is fitted with state-of-the-art survey equipment like Deep Sea Multi beam echo sounder system, Side Scan Sonars and a fully automated digital surveying and processing system. In addition, the ship carries an integral Chetak helicopter, which would be extensively utilized during the survey. The ship has undertaken surveys in the past few years in Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Seychelles, Kenya and Tanzania.
