Briefing session with ICCR Scholars

The High Commission of India, organized a briefing session for the ICCR Scholars who have been successfully selected for grant of scholarships by Government of India under the ICCR’s Africa Scholarship Scheme on Tuesday, 20 September 2022.

The briefing session was held by Mr. Vimarsh Aryan, Deputy High Commissioner, Mr. Ankush Kapoor, First Secretary and officials of education section.

For the academic year 2022-23, ICCR has offered 65 seats under Africa Scholarship Scheme for Mauritius (including Rodrigues). The scholarships are offered for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, M.Phil and Phd levels. The courses offered are in the fields of Engineering, Science, Commerce, Humanities etc. This year 59 students were found eligible and have been offered scholarships by various Universities in India. A few scholars have already joined their courses in India, while the remaining will be joining their Institutes very soon.

On this occasion, Sh. Dheeraj Raghoobur, Chief and Head of Governor’s office, Bank of Mauritius and ICCR Alumni, participated in the briefing session in virtual mode. He also shared his experience of studying in India and encouraged the scholars to make best use of this opportunity of studying in India. Some scholars, who had already availed of the scholarships in earlier years, shared their experiences with the freshers and provided guidance to them.

The scholars also raised various queries about travel, stay, documentation etc. which were duly answered by the High Commission team.
