CELEBRATION OF INDIA'S INDEPENDENCE DAY

To commemorate the 67th anniversary of India’s Independence on Friday 15 August 2014, the High Commission of India is organizing two events.

A flag hoisting ceremony will be organised at 0900 hrs at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Indian Culture, Phoenix. High Commissioner of India H E Shri Anup Kumar Mudgal will unfurl the National Flag of India, and read out the message to the nation from Hon’ble President Shri Pranab Mukherjee. All Indian nationals residing in Mauritius and friends of India are cordially invited to the brief ceremony.

In the evening, H E the High Commissioner of India will host a Reception at 1830 hrs at the SVICC Pailles, which will be attended by Mauritian dignitaries, members of the Diplomatic Corps, and several other eminent personalities.

Journalists/photographers arriving to cover the events will not require invitation cards, and are requested to arrive 15 minutes in advance of the start times provided above.
