Release of a booklet on OCI Card Scheme‘Tracing Your Roots Back to India’

A booklet on the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) scheme titled Tracing Your Roots Back to India” was jointly released by the Minister of Arts and Culture, Government of Mauritius, Hon. Prithvirajsing Roopun, High Commissioner of India Shri Abhay Thakur and Chairman MGI & RTI Council Mr. Jaynarain Meetoo, on 12th December 2018, at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute (MGI), Moka. The booklet, a collaborative effort of the High Commission of India, the Civil Status Division of the Government of Mauritius, the National Archives of Mauritius and the Mahatma Gandhi Institute, is a detailed user friendly compilation of relevant information about and steps required to apply for Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card. In their remarks at the event, the Minister of Arts and Culture and the High Commissioner of India spoke about the background of exceptional carve out for Mauritius, underscored the benefits of OCI Card scheme and encouraged all eligible Mauritians to apply for OCI Card.
