Release of grant assistance of INR 1.5 million to

Language Resource Centre, MGI

As part of its agreed support to the Language Resource Center (LRC) of the Mahatma Gandhi Institute (MGI) Mauritius, an amount of INR 1.5 million has been released by the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL), Mysore to the LRC, MGI. The Grant remittance ceremony at MGI today was attended by Chairman MGI Dr. Jaynarain Meetoo, High Commissioner of India Shri Abhay Thakur, Director CIIL Prof. D.G. Rao and DG MGI Mrs. S.N. Gayan. This grant is being used for supporting language teaching and learning, as well as course development, for Indian Languages at MGI. At the ceremony, both sides appreciated the extensive work undertaken by LRC MGI for promotion of Indian languages in Mauritius in cooperation with CIIL Mysore, and looked forward to a further strengthening of such cooperation in the years ahead.
