A Commissioning Ceremony of the new Advanced Light Helicopter MK III delivered by HAL, India was held on 14th March 2023. The event was graced by the Hon. Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Commissioner of Police, Mr. Anil Kumarsing Dip, and the High Commissioner of India, Mrs. K. Nandini Singla, along with other senior dignitaries from the Government of Mauritius.

The induction of the ALH MK III is set to significantly enhance coastal surveillance capabilities and facilitate monitoring and control of maritime pollution, as well as the fight against drug trafficking and other maritime crimes.

This new addition will bolster the operational abilities of both the National Coast Guard and the Police Helicopter Squadron, thus advancing maritime security in the Indian Ocean.

This is yet another testament to the longstanding partnership between India and Mauritius in the field of internal and maritime security.
