Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC) to pursue undergraduate courses in higher and technical institutions in India for the academic year 2013-14 

100 admissions-cum-scholarships shall be offered for undergraduate courses in Engineering/Architecture/Technology; Humanities/Liberal Arts; Commerce; Management - BBA/BBM; Computers- BCA; Journalism; Hotel Management; Agriculture / Animal Husbandry; Sciences; Ayurveda etc.

The programme is open only to PIOs (50 seats) and NRIs (50 seats) from the specified 40 countries including Mauritius.

Candidates are advised to log on to websites mentioned below for obtaining detailed information.

The SPDC is open for applicants in the age group of 17-21 years as on 1st October 2013.  In other words, applicants born on or after 1st October, 1992 and before 1st October, 1996 are eligible to apply for it.

Applicants must be (i) a person of Indian Origin (PIO) or (ii) an Indian National Studying abroad. The Indian Nationals must have had  at least three years of education in foreign countries listed in appendix – A shown on the website during the last six years and must have passed the qualifying examination inclusive of 11th and 12th  standard or equivalent (not beyond).

The candidates must have passed the Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent from a system of education recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with requisite subjects.

The candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or equivalent grades in aggregate of all the subjects in the qualifying examination.

The candidate must have studied the prescribed essential subjects at the qualifying examination level to pursue a particular course of study.

Candidates would be selected on the basis of Merit as per the criteria mentioned in the guidelines of scheme which is available on the website mentioned below.

It may be noted that since SPDC & DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) are two different schemes so Students should apply separately for both the scheme to get the benefit of scholarship under SPDC scheme.

Candidates are required to submit original application form (Hard copy) complete in all respect of the Project Manager (SPDC), Educational Consultants India Ltd; P&S Division, EdCIL House 18A, Sector 16A, Noida – 201301, UP, (India) latest by 10th June 2013.
