We are pleased to inform you thatthe construction of the World Hindi Secretariat (WHS) has commenced.The Contract for construction for the complex has been awarded to M/s Nundun Gopee Ltd, a prominent Mauritian construction company. The construction shall cost about  163 million Mauritian Rupees. The architect-consultants for the project are M/s Pravin Desai. The project is expected to be completed by March 2018.

A restricted ground breaking puja ceremony, in the presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister of Mauritius, the Hon’ble Minister of Education of Mauritius and the High Commissioner of India, shall be held from 1400-1430 hrs on Saturday  08 October 2016 at the WHS site (near the Indira Gandhi  Centre for Indian Culture and adjacent to the Phoenix Commercial Centre). Members of the media, who wish to cover the puja, are cordially invited to attend. Furthermore, following this ceremony, the High Commission will be celebrating Hindi Diwas 2016 at the Multipurpose Hall of the Indira Gandhi Centre for Indian Culture, Phoenix from 1430 hrs onwards. All are cordially invited to join us for Hindi Diwas celebrations as well.
