Hiring of local Resource persons for Music (Indian Classical Vocal) and Dance (Kathak) at Indira Gandhi Centre for Indian Culture, Phoenix

     Indira Gandhi Centre for Indian Culture (IGCIC), High Commission of India, Phoenix wishes to invite applications for hiring local resource persons, who can teach and perform at the IGCIC

        Music (Indian Classical Vocal) and Dance (Kathak) at IGCIC Qualifications:

        QUALIFICATIONS:-

(I)    Essential :

        (i) Candidate should be the citizen of Mauritius or having NRI status with      valid work permit, (ii) Fluency in English and local language, (iii) Candidates should have minimum of 3 years degree in the respective discipline with 3 years of experience or 2 years diploma/certificate or training in the concerned field for a minimum period of 2 years from renowned institution/Guru with 4 years of experience, (iv) Adequate knowledge of history, philosophy and traditions of Indian music, dance, art and culture.

(II)    Desirable :

        (i) Experience in teaching of music/dance, (ii) Sound knowledge in use of computers including recording/downloading audio/video, mixing and editing video from the YouTube/internet, (iii) Experience in giving performance/lecture demonstrations, (iv) Should be good at production of stage programmes/choreography and examination preparation. Candidate must be able to take initiative and strive to help students to achieve their personal best with high expectation of attainment, progress and behaviour.

(III)   Age: Between 25 to 50 years

(IV)   Job Profile:

         (i)       Candidate has to be available at the IGCIC from Monday to Thursday (from 9 am to 7 pm), on Friday (from 3 pm to 7 pm) and on Saturday (from 9 am to 1 pm).

         (ii)      There would be approx. 150-200 enrolled students at IGCIC in Music and Dance respectively.

        (iii)      Candidate need to undertake outreach activity of IGCIC such as Workshops, Lectures and performances etc.

(V) Salary: An amount of MUR 50,000 per month will be paid as remuneration. It could be negotiable.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for personal interview for selection. IGCIC has discretion to select the candidate from the shortlisted candidates.
