INS TARKASH on a goodwill visit to Mauritius

PRESS RELEASE

          Indian Naval Ship Tarkash, part of the Indian Navy’s Western Fleet arrived in Port Louis on 03 July 2017, on a three-day goodwill visit to Mauritius.

2.     Indian Naval ships deployed in the Indian Ocean in consultation with concerned countries to address the main maritime concerns of the region, including piracy, assistance with hydrographic survey, search and rescue, EEZ surveillance, humanitarian aid and capability-building. During the visit, the crew of INS Tarkash  also interacted with the officers of the Mauritius National Coast Guard.

3.     A reception was held on-board INS Tarkash, on the evening of 04 July 2017 and the Hon’ble Vice President of Mauritius, Mr. Paramasivum  Pillay Vyapoory graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Shri. Shiv Chandra Ram,Minister of Arts, Culture & Youth, Government of Bihar and Shri. Jai Kumar Singh, Minister of Industries, Government of Bihar, who were on a visit to Mauritius,  also attended the reception.

4.      The goodwill visit of INS Tarkash helped to further strengthen India-Mauritius maritime cooperation.
